The overall goal of the PHC Capacity Building Program is to use innovative approaches to expand the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of key stakeholders in policy development, implementation and evaluation to strengthen primary health care through a comprehensive mixed-methods capacity building program in the six regions of the World Health Organization.
This effort is taking place as part of the current WHO’s learning opportunities available, including in the context of the WHO Academy.
In addition, it will be built upon relevant existing capacity building content already developed by WHO, at all levels of the Organization. The primary target audiences of the PHC Capacity Building Program are senior policy makers and other decision makers from ministries of health, health purchasing agencies, regional and local governments, as identified by WHO, with responsibilities for designing and implementing PHC 4 UHC policies. Capacity building activities may additionally target health facility managers and practitioners, international development agencies, as well as academicians, as and when appropriate.
At the request of WHO and under its guidance, this WHO Colaborating Centre on Primary Healh Care will support moderation/facilitation/evaluation of teaching modules of selected WHO’s training activities on PHC (with a particular emphasis on Spanish-speaking learners/cohorts/communities).
If you want to propose new capacities related to the Operational Framework for Primary Health Care and the WHO Framework on integrated people-centred health services, please contact us through our email here.
