Health systems across Europe are confronted with demographic shifts, technological advances, workforce pressures, environmental challenges, and changing societal needs. To remain effective, health management must move beyond reactive approaches and ensure strategies translate into timely, practical action.

The theme ‘Future-proofing health systems for a changing world: from strategy to action’ highlights the need to embed foresight, agility, and continuous improvement into health systems.

This year’s conference will explore how to bridge long-term vision with day-to-day implementation — addressing priorities such as prevention, workforce transformation, digital innovation, sustainability, and equity in access.

The conference, co-hosted by La Unió – Catalan Hospital, Health and Social Services Association an, and IESE Business School, will be held in Barcelona, 10-12 June 2026.

Future-proofing requires leadership that connects policy with practice, fosters cross-sector collaboration, and empowers communities to co-create solutions. By turning strategy into action, health managers can ensure that systems are not only high performing today but also ready for the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow.
