The need to integrate mental health services into primary healthcare service provision in Nigeria is now more urgent than previously considering the huge and increasing gap in access to mental care at the community level. This study therefore, assessed the critical roles and responsibilities of family physicians in facilitating the successful integration of Mental Health Services (MHS) into primary healthcare settings in Nigeria, with the goal of improving health outcomes, improving patient-centered care, and promoting a more efficient and effective healthcare system.
