This report is an overview of activities undertaken by the WHO European Centre for Primary Health Care in 2023. The highlight of this year was the International Conference on Primary Health Care Policy and Practice: Implementing for Better Results, held in Astana, Kazakhstan. The Conference convened primary health care (‎PHC)‎ stakeholders from around the globe to discuss pressing themes with focus on implementation bottlenecks and opportunities in transforming PHC. Country-specific engagements have continued to build on the progress made in preceding years, providing technical assistance across the whole WHO European Region. The work has also focused on building acknowledge base, resulting in the publication of five policy papers. Ongoing projects have sustained their momentum, such as the Let’s Talk Primary Health Care talk show, in its third season, as well as the Strengthening Actionable Primary Health Care Performance Measurement and Management: Tailored Training and Mentorship Programme and visits to the WHO Primary Health Care Demonstration Platforms.
